Corridors of silence

A couple of interesting developments in the last twenty four hours. Firstly the Chinese robocalls continue. Secondly, I received an SMS from MOH, not your mom or my mom, but the Ministry of Health telling me to plug my mobile number into the HOMER app.

Now the HOMER app is an interesting thing, you will find it on the Google Play store and on the Apple iStore but be aware that it doesn’t happily install on just any old phone. Anticipating challenges, in blighty I installed it on Mrs Jones Samsung without a hitch but neither my Mi A1 or Redmi Note 8 would have any of it. So I had to resort to lugging an on iPhone 6 with me.

I arrived therefore, fully armed. Well yesterday afternoon I received a text advising to enter the number. As soon as that was done an OTP code was issued by SMS and plugged in and you’re now connected.

The requirements are that you submit three selfies during the course of the day, complete three surveys and perform three body temperature readings. If you’re in similar circumstances I recommend you bring your own thermometer as I did. I even bought one for Mrs Jones as a adieu present. I was offered one by the hotel on arrival, which was useful and I could have bought one at Heathrow as the Boots was open, so no excuses there.

So three submissions in and I note for myself that my temperature swings wildly between 34.something and 36.4 if nothing else, it is interesting. I never do a vitals check generally, either I am alive and awake or asleep.

Laundry day today! My god $5 to wash a T shirt. That’s almost purchase price. They are certainly not keen on you giving them laundry to do.

Today I might get an online shopping delivery too, I ordered a display and docking port because this tiny computer screen on the laptop is driving me nuts
