The last of the liquorice cables are done. My son had gifted me a great bag of Batch37 Soft Liquorice by Darrell Lea. Delicious. If you’re a liquorice lover you will appreciate the quality even if your hypertension and waistline doesn’t!
Sleep was ok, as to be expected with a bit of jetlag, I made a point of not going to bed too early but was rudely awakened at about 2am anyway.
Breakfast arrived with a ding dong of the doorbell at about 5 to seven. Once again the combination of cane fiber, coated cardboard, poly bottle juice, yoghurt and a poly bag.
I failed to mention in my previous post the wooden cutlery/flatware. It is low splinter wood, doesn’t appear to be bamboo and is quite a lot more rigid than plastic . Made by BioPak it is a winner in my book though my collection of unused spoons and knives is accumulating.
The croissants were interesting. Flaky, crisp, perhaps a little overbaked. But one of them had the most curious of attachments a kind of grape nut whole grain which in the baking turned out to be quite crunchy
I am not sure I liked it. The fruits were great and the yoghurt tasty enough. Mrs Jones was jealous because it seems she simply got french toast with peanut butter with cheesy grilled tomato, egg and some rude looking chicken sausages.
